There are so many times in my life when my children, or other children say things that really make me think. Children are so innocent and perfect, and they can always make me smile. I want to create this blog, so that I always remember things that are said by my children, and how they teach me new things every day.

"Freak"

Freak....... Vance, called his brother a freak. Naturally I told him not to say that. I told him it just wasn't a nice thing to say.
We were on the way to Vance's school to drop him off one morning and Ben was frustrated with traffic. Ben casually called another driver a "freak". I really didn't think much of it until I hear a little voice from the very back of the van.
"Oh NO..... The Holy Ghost is going to be so sad daddy."
Why is that Vance
"Because you said freak. Now the Holy Ghost is going to leave us, because he doesn't want to be around bad words"
He seemed very concerned. at the same time, me and ben both said, "You are right."
Everything I teach him, he learns... and then teaches himself more.
Vance is amazing. He is so small and angelic, but yet he keeps me on my toes. This kid has more heart than anyone I know.
I guess we won't be saying "freak" anymore:)

A Happy Boy

Recently, we were driving in the car and out of nowhere, Vance asked "Mom, When is Jesus coming?" I explained to him the no one really knows when he will come and that we are all just waiting for him. He continued with, "No, because I just turned my head and saw him, and it made me feel like a very happy boy!" We really have no idea what goes on in these little kids head, but I am often assured that they are so close to the Lord. I love that Vance talks about these things and I love how he truly believes everything we teach him about the Gospel. I wish I could be more like a child sometimes. Teachable, Humble, Forgiving, all my children remind me of these things. Vance inspires me with his Faith.
